Why we're here
A shared, careful map of the ineffable.
The Hyperspace Codex is a citizen-science archive: a place to document the entities, realms and states of mind that people encounter, and to cross-reference them so that patterns across many accounts can be seen. It is not a diary of highs and it is not a scoreboard. It exists to turn scattered, private experience into something collective, comparable and honest — pushing at the edges of human understanding without pretending to certainty we don't have.
Harm reduction comes first
We don't encourage anyone to take anything. Nothing here is a dare, a challenge, or a reason to use more than you otherwise would. If you choose to document an experience, we'd rather you did it with care, context and safety in mind. That value shapes the whole site — including how we recognise contribution.
Deliberately, nothing rewards volume. You gain no standing for filing more reports, using more substances, or racing anyone. Standing reflects the quality and usefulness of what you add, as judged by your peers — so the incentives point toward thoughtful curation, not consumption.
What you get out of it
This isn't only an act of contribution — it's a genuinely useful tool for your own practice. Every session is logged in three phases, giving you a private, structured record to track your own wellbeing and growth over time.
Pre-flight intentions
Register your mindset, physical state and what you're carrying in — so you can see, later, how where you started shaped where you went.
The experience itself
Describe what you saw and felt in your own words, and record how your state shifted across the arc of the journey.
Integration notes
Come back to reflect and integrate. Each session becomes a chapter in an ongoing personal record you can revisit, compare and learn from.
Anonymised, and yours to control. The general readings and tags from your sessions are stripped of any link to your name, your words or your account before they feed the aggregate patterns of the Resonance Engine. Your personal record is always kept for you — and you can opt out of contributing to the collective analysis at any time from your settings.
Five schools of contribution
Rather than one ladder that rewards activity, standing is split into five schools, each recognising a different way of strengthening the archive. The first — Witness — runs in two threads, because bearing witness happens in words and in images. You're never pushed toward any one of them — lean into whatever fits how you think and what you know.
Witness

Chronicle
Write careful, honest accounts of what you experienced. Standing grows when peers find your records resonant and useful — not when you file the most.
Vision
Render what you saw — drawing, painting, or digital work. Once a piece is approved and shown beside the entries it illuminates, it earns standing. Your work stays yours; we credit and link to it.
Cartographer
Link records together: connect entities, realms and reports so patterns across many accounts become visible.
Curator
SoonTend the shared taxonomy — propose edits, merges and clarifications so the codex stays coherent as it grows.
Interlocutor
Discuss generously and rigorously. Help other travellers, ask good questions, and rate accounts thoughtfully.
Scholar
SoonAnchor claims to evidence — define terms, cite sources and test assertions against what's actually known.
As you contribute you earn named tiers within each school, shown as badges on your profile. A couple of schools are still being wired up — they're marked Soon above.

Whatever you bring, there's a place for it
Artists & visual thinkers
Most entries have no imagery yet. If you've drawn, painted or rendered something resembling what you saw, it can sit beside the entry it belongs to — and earn standing on the Vision thread once it's approved and linked. Your work stays yours; we credit and point to it, nothing more.
Researchers & the well-read
Know the pharmacology, the anthropology, the history or the literature? Help anchor entries to evidence, flag what's speculative, and keep claims honest. Rigour is a contribution in its own right.
Experienced curators
People with deep, considered familiarity in this space are exactly who we need to tend the taxonomy — refining language, merging duplicates and steering the canon with care rather than dogma.
